Safe Summer Ambassador Program
The Ambassador Program deploys community subject matter experts - high-risk individuals with deep roots in their neighborhoods as paid, credentialed peacekeepers in Portsmouth\'s highest-need hotspots. These ambassadors carry the trust, relationships, and credibility that outside organizations cannot replicate.
The program recruits men and women who are very close to the streets in neighborhoods with high rates of gun violence.
Many community subject matter experts are at elevated risk themselves, and program participation is framed as an entry point into longer-term CVI careers or deeper services.
