SUMMARY:Healing Through Nature Courage and Connection
LOCATION:4700 George Washington Highway\, Portsmouth\, VA 23702
DESCRIPTION:Bon Secours- KIDZ’NGRIEF is a bereavement support program designed for children who have experienced the death of an important person in their lives. There are no restrictions regarding the relationship to the deceased or the amount of time that has passed since the loss. Our program provides a safe\, nurturing\, and supportive environment where children can express and process their grief through developmentally appropriate methods.\n\nFor over 20 years\, the program has held Mikey’s Camp for grieving children. With the support of Portsmouth United\, we will hold 3 evening camps to provide children in Portsmouth with a safe\, supportive space to process their grief alongside peers who truly understand. Campers will embark on a journey of healing through nature\, courage\, and connection!\n\nOur campers will face challenges head-on—literally—by tackling obstacle courses and soaring through the treetops on ziplines at the Adventure Park in Virginia Beach for Glow Night. This experience will create a powerful atmosphere of friendship and resilience.\n\nAt KIDZ\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'NGRIEF\, we believe no child should grieve alone. Together\, we can support healing\, hope\, and growth. \n\nChildren must be ages 11-18 (if high school seniors) to participate in camp.\nCamp dates: Friday\, July 17th\, Friday July 24th and Friday August 7th.\n\nChildren must be dropped off and picked up at 4700 George Washington Highway. (Near Ollies\, Waffle House and Dunkin Donuts)\n\nWaivers and applications must be completed for participation.
